Hi! 👋 I'm Carl Poppa. I'm building Vue Developers to make it easier for Vue.js developers to find their next job.
Vue Developers stands on three core values:
- Empower the independent developer
- Do everything openly
- Create a safe, inclusive space
Empowering the developer
I've been an independent developer for the last 6 years. It's feast or famine. One moment, I'm drowning in projects; the next, I'm hunting for my next gig.
Job boards? Not much help. They're built for full-timers, leaving freelancers like us out in the cold.
Vue Developers aims to flip the script. Instead of companies posting their jobs, developers post their profiles. That way, the power dynamic is reversed as companies have to reach out to developers first.
Doing everything openly
Vue Developers is an Open Startup. It operates transparently and shares metrics like revenue and traffic.
- Public analytics
- Revenue and expenses (coming soon)
- Bug reports (coming soon)
On top of that, I make all my decisions in public. I post questions and ideas when looking for feedback on all my socials. I also post about work-in-progress and sneak previews.
Creating a safe, inclusive space
The site is open to all developers, regardless of gender, race, colour, national origin, religion, age, disability, or skill level that follow the code of conduct.
If something doesn't feel right, or you ever feel uncomfortable, please send me an email right away.
Attribution
Vue Developers was originally built by Thomas Sanlis. I acquired it in January 2025.
The current version of the site is adapted from RailsDevs' open source project by Joe Masilotti.
